Hello World

Indulkana Anangu School one of nine Anangu schools situated in the far Northwest corner of South Australia in the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (APY) Lands which are approximately 1300km’s North of Adelaide by road. Indulkana Anangu School is the closest APY Lands school to the Stuart Highway. In 2007 there are approximately 100 students attending the school. Indulkana Anangu School works under joint management of DECS and the Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Education Committee (PYEC). PYEC consists of both Anangu Coordinators and community representatives who make decisions about the directions of schooling.

Anangu participation within the school is significant with an Anangu Coordinator working jointly with the Principal; Anangu Education Workers (AEW’s) working with teachers in all classes; School Governing Council and other community members contributing actively to school life. AEW’s also have planning meetings with teachers and they also have meetings together with the Principal and Deputy Principal for school business. The school actively involves itself with all community agencies.

Our school facilities include a Child Parent Centre (CPC), a Junior Primary classroom, two Middle Primary classrooms and a Secondary Girls and a Secondary Boys Classroom. Other facilities include a library, computer room, staff preparation area, reception and administration section, a home economics area, an Anangu Tertiary Education Program ( AnTEP) building and a large multi-purpose area suitable for dance, PE and assemblies. Outdoor sports facilities include a Rage Cage (a basketball court sized area with an impact absorbing rubber matting surface). The school has access to the community football field.

Good Day Tyrone and all the Indulkana Kids, you sure look as though you are all doing a lot of very good school work. Only just found your site, and I'm most impressed.
Hope you are all well.
Cheers
